Dental Drama

This month was the boy's semi-annual dental checkup.  As usual they did pretty good.  Erik had one small cavity that they decided to fill while they put the sealants on his teeth.  He did great with the sealant, but as soon as they numbed him to fill the cavity he started to stress out.  They tried 3 different times to fill the cavity, and he would not let the dentist near his mouth.  Sensory overload I suspect.  Anyway they will have to sedate him to fill it, and so I made the appointment and took the boys to school.  That night at dinner, Erik looked like he had a jawbreaker in his mouth.  It was not candy, his cheek was swollen.  He had chewed on his numb cheek all day long.  It was a mess.  It became infected.  We had a week of intense pain that kept him from eating and sleeping.   He is much better now, but he is supposed to go in tomorrow for his filling, I don't think we are ready yet.

Easter Fun in Cear City

We spent Easter in Cedar City this year.  We went fishing (sorry no pictures we forgot!) hunted for eggs at grandpa's care center, Slept with a punching bag and ate lots of pork ( pulled pork sandwiches one night and Ham the next). The weather was great and we had a wonderful time!

John Deere Action

Erik's Aunt Susan has a friend that collects John Deere Tractors.  We got to go see their collection while we were in Cedar City this weekend.

Goodbye Max

Today we said good bye to our friend Max.  We found a family who wanted him to breed with their hunting hounds.  They live in Delta and have always wanted a Bloodhound, and are very excited.  They know 3 other people who want him for a stud.  What I life!  It was the perfect place for Max.  We decided to sell him.  It was a very sad day, but we are so happy for him.  We have been promised a puppy.  We will adopt a new dog as soon as we find the right one.  We have learned a lot about being dog owners, and are excited to find a new best friend.

I Hate Choosing

It is my turn to choose a book for book club.  I hate doing it because I never know what people will like.  Here are a few choices that have crossed my mind.

Wildwood Dancing by Juliette Marillier.  Translyvanian sisters sneak off each month to the world of Fairy.  While this is a rich entrancing story it is decidedly juvenile.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.  Being the huge Gaiman fan that I am I would love to share this book about an orphan boy raised by ghosts in a graveyard, with my friends.  Hmm but maybe they would be more of American Gods fans.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  Same book we all know and love, with the addition of zombies.  Need I say more?
