All american Chili

2C beans (I like 1 C pintos 1/2 C black, 1/2 kidney
6oz hot Italian sausage
2C onion chopped
1C chopped bell pepper (poblano is good too)
8 cloves garlic minced
1lb ground beef
1 jalapeno seeded and chopped
2Tbs brown sugar
1C chicken stock
1Tbs chili powder
1Tbs cumin
3Tbs tomato paste
1tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
2 bay leaves
3Tbs red wine vinegar
2 28 oz cans tomatoes

Soak and cook beans reserve liquid (you can use canned, if your weak). Brown sausage, beef onion peppers and garlic. Add chili powder and cumin. saute another 1-2 min. Add rest of ingredients including beans. Add enough reserved liquid to make right consistency. Simmer between 30 minutes and 6 hours adding liquid as needed.
